Back in 2004 it became evident, that Valandre had to adapt, to a more and more challenging globalized economy that as well, hit the mountaineering and Outdoor community. 

Our highly technical and complexed products, was only possible to make, taking the time necessary in all the different manufacturing processes.
High tech quality, takes and need time…..especially if the quality and precision tolerance is: Z-E-R-O. 

So, we took a look at the Asian manufacturing model: SUBCONTRACTING. This is the easy way out, as the oversea subcontractor takes charge, of all problems related to the problematic of production management, offering as well an economical low risk.

All you need to do is; call your Bank and make your confession…..Then you just transfer your technical know-how to the subcontractor. After that, you rely only on an estimative production quality, and accept the rest…….as nobody is perfect.

INDEPENDENCE

Back in Chamonix, taking a risk is a calculation. So, why “jumar up the fixed ropes, pumped up by artificial oxygen”, when you can just – take the risk - and tackle your summit non ox and in Alpine style? Like Maurice Barrard - backed up by Andre Vandeputte - why not just meet the challenge head on, and start up a 100% self-controlled production unit, in a country well known for their skills in textile: TUNISIA.

So, in 2005 - little by little - Valandre started transferring the technical know-how, of manufacturing of a non-compromising quality, into our own production unite, with humidity, infused by discernment, methodical patience – and human respect - not tipping over into team exhaustion.

On the other hand, our skilled local working force, unveiled their industrial know how, adding their cultural individualities, creating a sort of family-oriented production unit. This unit offer today a non-compromising high tech product, at a price that is within reach, of most Outdoor mountaineer with discernment.
