The EuropeeanOutDoor show runs from the 12 to 15 July, and Valandre will exhibit in Hall 7 booth A7-307.
From August 2th to 5, the second round is off in Salt Lake City with the Outdoor Retailer show. We will exhibit at and with Liberty Mountain at booth # 10007.
So what will be new? As usual, not a lot…….but what we have tends always to hit the center, and this time it will as well!

August 23, 2011 — Liberty Mountain, a leading independent distributor of technical outdoor products and climbing brands in the U.S., is pleased to announce its partnership with Valandré. Starting immediately, Liberty Mountain will offer Valandré’s line of high end technical down products.
The French company is a high-end manufacturer of down sleeping bags and outerwear for mountaineers and alpinists, such as the Austrian female climber, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, who has just become the first woman to successfully climb all fourteen 8,000-meter peaks without the use of bottled oxygen.
“Climbing to these heights without supplementary oxygen requires down gear that offers extreme warmth and better insulation due to reduced blood circulation. We are proud that Gerlinde has summitted K2 (North pillar – Japanese route), the second highest mountain in the world and her 14th 8,000er without supplemental oxygen, wearing our Valandré Combi,” said Niels Friisbol – President, Valandré.
Wednesday 29.06, the jury of the Outdoor Industry Award 2011, informed and announced that the Immelman has been Awarded.
At the moment, it’s not known what kind of Award the Immelman has received (GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE). This will be announced at the Award Ceremony on the fashion stage, July 14th at 17:30 in Friedrichshafen.
After the GOLD Award in 2009 for the Bloody Mary, a second Award in a row for the Immelman….is not bad.
Since the first presentation at the Outdoor Retailer, we have continued the development of the Immelman.

The technical key issue in the Immelman is the combination of articulation and a compartment system, that fixes the insulating down exactly where it is designed to be. To raise the performance of the Immelman, we have increased the total number of body side and inner sleeve compartment from 6 to 9. This increase in lateral compartments, offers a better guarantee that the insulation is maintained in the correct place, once the arms in movements and raised up.
